Our Story

Who We Are: George, Tyler, and the GT Mission

GT Sports Academy was founded in 2022 by local Basingstoke entrepreneurs and sports coaches, George Metzger and Tyler Bradley.

As two young coaches (both 20 at the time of founding), we recognized an opportunity to bring a modern, fresh approach to sports coaching. We started GT Sports Academy with a simple, powerful mission:

To empower and inspire children and adults of all ages and genders to participate in more sports, with a focus on holistic development, fun, and confidence.

What began as a passion project has quickly grown into a team of over 15 amazing coaches, serving schools, cricket clubs, and communities across Basingstoke and the surrounding areas.

Our philosophy is centered on giving every child the tools they need to succeed in sport and in life. We blend high-quality, technical training with a supportive, inclusive atmosphere.

  • Specialists in Cricket: We focus on teaching all sports but are recognized specialists in cricket coaching, working alongside established clubs like Overton, Royal Ascot and Basingstoke Cricket Clubs.

  • School Programmes: Delivering high-quality PE lessons, After-School Clubs, Lunchtime Clubs, and holiday camps to maximize participation.

  • Individual & Group Training: Offering personalised 1:1, small group, and open Cricket sessions to target specific skill development and technique refinement.

  • Charity & Events: Since 2022, we have focused on making a positive community impact, with our successful annual 'Colour Run' raising thousands for charities like Little Lives UK and our own Sporting Health initiative.
